Feel like the temps are rising and your energy is plummeting? The struggle is real! Here are 10 tips for keeping your cool so you can make the most of your day—all summer long!

1. Hydrate!

You know the drill. Your body needs water to function properly. So when you sweat, you tap into your body’s reserve which can leave you dehydrated. By drinking water throughout the day—even when you’re not sweating, you can stay hydrated and ward off fatigue.

2. Consider electrolytes.

If your sweat sesh is intense, you may up your hydration game with a drink that includes electrolytes to replace nutrients and electrolytes lost during sweating, such as sodium and chloride.

3. Limit alcohol.

Speaking of dehydration, those frosty summer-loving cocktails that are fun to sip poolside (or anywhere really) aren’t known for being hydrating. Because alcohol is a diuretic, moderation—or abstinence—is key. If you do choose to partake, make sure to sip on water as well, and don’t drink on an empty stomach.

4. Dress light.

Obviously, you’re not going to deck yourself out in winter’s layers, but, it should be noted, not all summer styles are created equally. To help keep your cool—and in turn your energy, choose natural materials like cotton, linen, or bamboo that breathe.

You may also want to invest in styles that offer moisture-wicking features, or even an SPF, which according to the Skin Cancer Foundation, is one of the most effective forms of protection against sun damage and skin cancer.

5. Schedule workouts accordingly.

Instead of ditching your outdoor workout this summer, maybe try scheduling it for early in the morning or later in the evening when it’s not so hot. This will help you conserve energy when the sun is at its peak.

And if you or your workout could use a boost, why not let our MAX+ Energy Caps work their magic? Not only do they deliver mood elevation and appetite control but also extreme energy so you can get the most out of your summer!

6. Dive In!

Instead of avoiding the outdoors, why not take advantage of summer workouts like swimming, which provide low-impact, full-body workout with plenty of benefits? In addition to helping you stay cool, regular swimming can strengthen your heart, lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of heart disease, and more.

7. Cool off in the shower.

Don’t worry, we’re not going to lecture about the importance of good hygiene. However, taking a shower is an excellent way to cool off! Just keep the water on the cool side instead of steaming, hot.

8. Eat right, eat light!

Skip heavy, fried meals that weigh you down and leave you ready for a nap. You should also limit any processed foods that may not feel heavy, but offer little to no nutritional value and a short energy burst that often ends in a crash.

Instead, reach for easy-to-digest fresh fruits, veggies, and salads that are rich in nutrients so you can feel lighter and more energized. Or try a protein packed shake, like our All-in-One Happy Shake which contains 24 nutrient-dense fruits and veggies and can help as a meal replacement if you’re on a weight loss journey.

9. Get your ZZZ’s.

While being out in the sun can definitely zap our energy, not getting enough sleep at night definitely won’t help either. Furthermore, a lack of quality sleep may leave you unable to focus, tired, and irritable.

Having trouble catching Zzz’s? Our Unwined Chill Drink can help you relax and get a good-night’s sleep without the morning groggy feeling.
